Getting Back Into a Routine
Most likely, your surgeon will instruct you to avoid heavy exercise for at least six weeks following your surgery. Of course, this can vary depending on your specific situation, so if in doubt, it is best to stick to what your surgeon instructed. However, the good news is that being restricted from heavy exercise does not necessarily mean that you need to let your body go. Instead, there are some exercises that you can do during your recovery phases as a way of staying in shape until you can get back into your regular workout routine.

The first two weeks after the surgery tend to be the time when you will need to stay the most sedentary. For the most part, you should avoid exercising altogether with the exception of some gentle stretching and light walking as recommended by your doctor.

After about two weeks, it is generally safe to introduce light cardiovascular activity back into your workout. Of course, you will want to consult with your doctor to be sure, but it is typically okay to begin low-impact cardio. This may include going for a brisk walk, getting on a stationary bike, or working out on an elliptical machine. Just be careful to avoid any cardiovascular workout that could jostle your new implants as they heal.

After six weeks, it is usually okay to begin getting back to the workout routine that you are used to. The key is to gradually ease yourself back into it and to avoid any abrupt or sudden strain to the pectoral area during this time. Make sure that the new bras are plenty supportive and comfortable; this will ensure a more enjoyable workout for you and help to prevent issues down the road.
